My mission in dentistry is to make a difference in each patient's oral health. I am committed to my patients and their treatments as if they are all family members. My goal is to grow professionally through continue education to provide the best dental care.

Life & Hobbies

Dr. Rivera-Velez is a proud Puerto Rican and first generation dentist of a family who has inspired her during every step of her journey to become a healthcare provider. Important experiences in her life such as an exchange program to Salamanca, Spain and my General Practice Residency in New York City have exposed Dr. Rivera-Velezto to diverse and multicultural environments. These experiences have awoken her interest in traveling  around the world and interacting with different people. During her free time, Dr. Rivera-Velez enjoys going out with friends and family and watching movies.

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Kara Hammoudeh enjoys outdoor activities such as soccer and table tennis. He also loves traveling and spending quality time with friends.

Dr. Buist is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology, a fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, and a fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantology. He is licensed to practice dentistry in 12 states and is an associate professor at both The University of Alabama School of Dentistry and the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.  

Life & Hobbies

In his free time, Dr. Buist is a man of many hobbies and interests.  His father was directly involved with NASA at the organization’s infancy, and as a result Dr. Buist has long held a fascination with engineering and product design. Other interests include carpentry, making jewelry, and designing dental instruments. He currently holds 6 patents related to dental instruments!
